Unrepentant Republican

I saw this quote from Mrs. Clinton in a news story today:

On Friday, Clinton seemed to agree. At an Obama rally in Las Vegas, Nevada, she said, "We had a hard-fought campaign, and it was exciting. It was a bit like the proverbial roller coaster, but we are now unified and ready to go forward together.
"And it is imperative that each and every one of us think about how we're going to help in this election," she said. "We are one party, we share one vision, and we believe as Democrats, as independents and repentant Republicans, in the progress we can make together!"

I started chuckling at the phrase "repentant Republicans". Spoken as if those poor, misguided people who previously have held conservative views were simply uneducated, or making poor choices, but thank the Mother Earth goddess, they have come back to their senses!

What arrogance. What cheek. What unmitigated gall. Mrs. C's statements imply that those of us that believe in the sanctity of life, the sanctity of marriage between one man and one woman, the basic common sense of fiscal responsibility, the values of "our liberties we prize, and our rights we will maintain"...well, we're all simply misguided children who can't think for ourselves, and isn't it wonderful that some have seen the light, and repented from their evil, sinful, conservative ways, and are now stepping into the front ranks to support liberalism, in all it's wonder and glory.

Excuse me while I find a garbage can to yak into....

What is most humorous is that this person seems to actually believe the drivel she is spewing. What is sad is that some of my fellow citizens on this planet are actually falling for her siren song. She apparently believes that "the people" simply aren't bright enough to see beyond the whitewash and softsoap. She apparently believes that "the people" aren't smart enough to think for themselves.

I don't believe that. I believe that "the people" are endowed with that wonderful gift I refer to as "uncommon common sense". Too bad Mrs. C appears to have missed out on her daily dose.

My two cents worth.
